I really did not care for the first (THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY) but persevered and was mesmerized by the next two novels: so much so that I purchased this set. In fact, this was the only set of all 5 Ripley novels available and I was wondering why it got some negative reviews but ordered it anyway.
